For the explanatory synthesis paper, I decided show people who the media influences one's perception of normal. In everyday life, we watch Tv and scroll through social media. All we see are models and famous people, so it wraps our idea of how we see ourselves. What really inspired me to write this paper was my best friend. Currently she is beating anorexia. Something I remember vividly was her getting angry at a magazine cover because it was unrealistic even from someone who was starving themselves for months. We want desperately to look like the airbrushed or photoshopped girls; however, if models can't even look like that why do we expect ourselves to? Through movie puns, I express my own personal experiences of what normal is. Normal is not conforming. It is standing out.
