The Explanatory Synthesis Paper

In my explanatory synthesis paper, I focused on how media bias changes people's opinions and that it is dangerous especially with this upcoming election. I chose the topic, because recently political memes and rants have flooded and polluted my social media accounts. I will support anyone's freedom of speech; however, I believe that some people's opinions are becoming dangerous and they are forcing it on others. The reason that voting is so monitored and private is so that people can make their own decisions without judgement of others. When minorities and women first got their right to vote, people would protest, harass and try to force those people to either not vote or vote for a specific candidate of the mobs choice. Since I hope we have overcome that, it is the civic duty of anyone for can vote to do so. Unfortunately, with such radically different candidates this year a lot of people have strong opinions. I have seen posts on my news feed saying things such as, "If you vote for Trump, unfriend me." "If you vote for Bernie, you're a pothead." "If you vote for Hillary you are a feminist." There is nothing wrong with being a feminist. So while people are name calling, it intimidates other people to vote for a certain party. I wrote this paper so that people can practice there civil duty, while picking a presidential candidate that suits them best. Let us remove the bias, and make our own decisions. We should not pick a president based on memes or the size of their genitals, thank you Donald Trump.
